Corrections Policy

A simple process for keeping published automotive information accurate and current.

Material Errors

When a material factual error is confirmed, revise the affected passage and add a correction or update note when the change matters to the meaning of the story.

Routine Updates

Changes such as a newer statistic, updated agency rule, changed business address, or revised program deadline can be handled as updates when the earlier text was accurate at publication.

Source Conflicts

When authoritative sources conflict, describe the disagreement rather than selecting a preferred version without evidence. Recheck the primary record before making a correction.

Archived Stories

Older reporting can remain available for historical context. Add an editor note when an old rule, deadline, or market condition may otherwise mislead a current reader.
